Why?

You only know my smiling lips

But not my teary eyes

You only know my loud laugh

But not my silent cries

You only see me merrily floating through each day

But not my shadowed plight 

You only see my sunny sky

But not my dreadful night

You only notice my made up face

But not that it's all fake

You only notice the layers of makeup 

But the true colors you can't trace

Why can't you decipher what I confide?

Why can't you hear my silent scream?

Why can't you see the sadness I hide?

Why can't you see that broken dream?
