On The Result Day
                       By Pragati Khanna

On the result day
We pray for everything to be okay
Our expectations going high
Heading towards the sky
But, high expectations hurt
Cause in exams we know we've written dirt!
Our mothers anxious and worried
We know that if we don't score good we will be buried
Marks don't matter
But this isn't enough to flatter.

Do We Think About Those?

In the scorching hot summers of June
When we switch on our AC in the afternoon
Do we think about those
Who don't even have fans in their homes?
On the cold winter day
When people wish to stay
In their blankets cosy and warm
Not wanting to take up any harm
Do we think about those
Who don't have windows to close
When the chilly wind blows?
In the merry spring fervour
When everyone is smelling the flower
Do we think about those
Who get the thorns but not the rose?

Run run run! The world is fast
Just a pause and you are lost
Earn earn earn! Be happy and glad
Don't care for the pitiable sad
Yes, its the language of the modern lad
This is the language of the modern lad!

In today's materialistically modern world people are busy running after materialistic possessions not caring about the underprivileged not giving a damn about how they live, the sense of humanity has disappeared, instead of '' just feeling bad'' or ''just pitying on them'' together we can make their conditions better. We should learn from nature, the art of balancing and equally distributing the resources among the people. As a gratitude towards nature, after we earn enough or more to fulfil our basic needs, as responsible humans of the world, the intellectuals should ensure equality amongst all and partiality amongst none.

In My Heart

                                      by Pragati Khanna

In my heart
Is the hidden pain
In my heart
Are the thoughts insane!
In my heart
Are the tears I cry
In my heart
Is a feeling, I should try
In my heart
Is no regret
In my heart
No, I'm not upset
In my heart
Now the blood is all bad
In my heart
Oh, I'm not at all sad
In my heart
There's a dream, I see
In my heart
Its just you and me
In my heart
There's no fear
In my heart
The stream of reason is clear
In my heart
Are a lot of things
And now my heart is having wings.

I Am a Fairy Tale

                                                                            By Pragati Khanna

I am a fairy tale
I am a fairy tale
I am the bright light
I am the nasty fight
I am the happy day
Which looks so merry and gay
I am the dark night
Where shadows fly in fright
I am the princess' doll
And look here she's giving me a call
I am the prince's horse
And here I come in with all my force
I am the unsolved mystery
Everyone is trying to know my history
I am a fairy tale
I am a fairy tale

Run The Paradise

                        by Pragati Khanna

I had a dream
While I walked down the stream
I want to rise
And run the paradise
I want to roar
As loud to reach not the mantle but the core
I want to roar more and more
I am on
And the fear has long gone
But as you move away
You watch me make my way
You watch me grow
And as I glow
In the sky
And As I fly high and high
You watch me fall
You watch me rise
And run the paradise

My Idea of a Happy Life

Happiness is a state of mind in which a person feels that he is on the top of the world. Happiness can't be acquired by materialistic possessions. Many people confuse happiness with pleasure which is wrong.
There was a time when people didn't know what money was, but spent their tension free life under the blanket of a sky full of stars, enjoying the god given bounties lying in the lap of nature, which now have not much significance for the modern tension ridden people.
But one should remember that money isn't sweet like honey...

Money is not sweet like honey
It may buy you Royal Benz
But can it buy you loyal friends?
People who dream money in a heap
Will it help them to buy some sleep?
It may buy petrol to travel miles
But can it by those lovely smiles?

It is of course not bad to endeavour to attain materialistic comforts, but to be materialistically minded is a bane.

Learn To Fly

Life is short
Don't waste it
Life is sweet
Take time to taste it
Life is full of surprises
Be ready to get one
But don't be afraid of it
Or try to run
Life may give you trouble
Grab a chance to prove yourself strong
Don't go weak or start to cry
Grow strong wings
And learn to fly...

You Just Went Away

                                    By Pragati Khanna

You just went away
Went away all fine
In a quite discreet way
I remember I was just nine
The day before you went away
You seemed to be so happy
Together we went a long way
I still remember that day
It was all merry and gay
You sneaked out quite all right
You didn't wish to give a clue
Had I the insight
I would have joined us with some glue
